At the age of 18, I worked as a set photographer on a short film; That’s when my path was laid out: I want to make movies for the rest of my life. To fund my undergraduate education in film and my post-graduate studies at Barcelona-ESCAC, I worked in various departments with different film teams. This gave me invaluable experience and helped me understand, from different perspectives, the inherent challenges in each film.
When a friend tells me a story, I create the movie in my head; it’s the same when I read a script or receive a briefing… I think through images, sequences of movements, colors, and scales. It’s natural to me, I believe. I also believe in the constant need for improvement; not even the best film is absolutely perfect, and that mindset should guide me: my latest film is simply the best I’ve made until the next one.
